Book Discussion: Mindful Compassion

Join local yoga teacher, Renée Baker, as we discuss the book,
"Mindful Compassion: How the Science of Compassion Can Help You Understand Your Emotions, Live in the Present, and Connect Deeply with Others", by Gilbert and Choden.

After discussion, we will engage in two exercises in mindfulness and Renée will lead a guided meditation practice. It will be to the benefit of our discussion if you have read the book prior to the meeting.

Renée Baker is a 240-hour registered yoga teacher, currently working on her advanced yoga studies at Asheville Yoga Center. She also has a Masters Degree in Education. She teaches locally at Wake Forest Yoga and Healthtrax of Raleigh, and will teach at the new studio, Unwined on White. Her own mindfulness practices are influenced by her study of the books of Thich Nhat Hanh, Eckhart Tolle, Rick Hanson and Pema Chodron, as well as trainings with Alan Finger and Kimberley Puryear.
